July Events
250th 4th of July Celebrate America – This event is Friday, July 3rd & Saturday, July 4th beginning at 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., each day. The street closure will be S. Jefferson St., from Main St., to Crawford St., Central Ave., to Washington St., and Central Ave., with adjoining parking lot. The closure will start on July 3rd at 7:00 a.m., until July 4th at 10:00 p.m.
July 4th Parade – The parade is Saturday, July 4, 2026 beginning at 11:00 a.m. to noon with line up starting at 9:30 a.m., in the parking lot of Northwest State Community College. The parade route will be Main St., and will start at the intersection of Main & Cherry St., to the intersection of Main & Shannon St., (YWCA to YMCA).
Van Wert County Historical Society – The July 4th Holiday at Home event is Saturday, July 4, 2026 beginning at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The street closure will be Third St., from Washington St., to the East side of the museum to the caboose, beginning at 7:00 a.m.
Van Wert Freedom Cruise – The event is Saturday, July 11, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The street closure will be S. Jefferson St., from Main St., to Central Ave.
Haven of Hope – The event is Friday, July 17, 2026 beginning at 9:00 p.m. through 8:00 a.m., Saturday in Fountain Park. The street closure will be Jefferson St., from Main St., to Central Ave., through the night with Central Avenue’s intersection to remain open to Crawford St.
Historic Main Street – The Block Party event is in Fountain Park for Friday, July 24, 2026 beginning at 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The street closure will be Jefferson St., from Jackson St., to Crawford St., W. Main St., from Shannon St., to Washington St., and Central Ave., from W. Central Ave., from Jefferson to Washington St.
First United Methodist Church – The Operation Back to School event is in Fountain Park on Sunday, July 26, 2026 beginning at 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. The street closure will be Jefferson St., from Main St., to Central Ave., with Central Avenue’s intersection to remain open to Crawford St.
August Events
Historic Main Street – The Main Street Madness 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament Boys and Girls event is Saturday, August 1, 2026 beginning at 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The street closure will be W. Crawford St., to S. Jefferson St., the bridge by Fountain Park.
Urban Roots Salon – The Peace, Love and Pink Color Run event is Saturday, August 1, 2026, beginning at 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The street closure will be Walnut St., starting from Gleason Ave., to Central Ave., also Market St., from the Bridge to Central Ave., and the adjoining parking lot on the corner.
Van Wert Freedom Cruise – The event is Saturday, August 8, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The street closure will be S. Jefferson St., from Main St., to Central Ave.
September Events
Van Wert Freedom Cruise – The event is Saturday, September 12, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The street closure will be S. Jefferson St., from Main St., to Central Ave.
Historic Main Street – The Harvest Moon Festival event is Saturday, September 26, 2026 beginning at 4:00 to 11:00 p.m. The street closure will be Main St., from 101 E. Main St., to 301 E. Main St., East and West Court St., also 200 E. Main St., from S. Market St., to E. Crawford St., including the parking lot and 113 N. Market St., to Main St.
October Events
Van Wert Freedom Cruise – The event is Saturday, October 10, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The street closure will be S. Jefferson St., from Main St., to Central Ave.
