Jefferson St.\, from Main St.\, to Crawford St.\, Central Ave.\, to Washington St.\, and Central Ave.\, with adjoining parking lot.  The closure will start on July 3rd at 7:00 a.m.\, until July 4th at 10:00 p.m. \nJuly 4th Parade –  The parade is Saturday\, July 4\, 2026 beginning at 11:00 a.m. to noon with line up starting at 9:30 a.m.\, in the parking lot of Northwest State Community College.  The parade route will be Main St.\, and will start at the intersection of Main & Cherry St.\, to the intersection of Main & Shannon St.\,  (YWCA to YMCA). \nVan Wert County Historical Society – The July 4th Holiday at Home event is Saturday\, July 4\, 2026 beginning at 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The street closure will be Third St.\, from Washington St.\, to the East side of the museum to the caboose. \nVan Wert Freedom Cruise – The event is Saturday\, July 11\, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  The street closure will be S. Jefferson St.\, from Main St.\, to Central Ave. \nHaven of Hope – The event is Friday\, July 17\, 2026 beginning at 9:00 p.m. through 8:00 a.m.\, Saturday in Fountain Park.  The street closure will be Jefferson St.\, from Main St.\, to Central Ave.\, through the night with Central Avenue’s intersection to remain open to  Crawford St. \nHistoric Main Street – The Block Party event is in Fountain Park for Friday\, July 24\, 2026 beginning at 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.  The street closure will be Jefferson St.\, from Jackson St.\, to Crawford St.\, W. Main St.\, from Shannon St.\, to Washington St.\, and Central Ave.\, from W. Central Ave.\, from Jefferson to Washington St. \nFirst United Methodist Church – The Operation Back to School event is in Fountain Park on Sunday\, July 26\, 2026 beginning at 12:00 to 7:00 p.m.  The street closure will be Jefferson St.\, from Main St.\, to Central Ave.\, with Central Avenue’s intersection to remain open to Crawford St. \nAugust Events \nHistoric Main Street  – The Main Street Madness 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament Boys and Girls event is Saturday\, August 1\, 2026 beginning at 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  The street closure will be W. Crawford St.\, to S. Jefferson St.\, the bridge by Fountain Park. \nUrban Roots Salon – The Peace\, Love and Pink Color Run event is Saturday\, August 1\, 2026\, beginning at 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  The street closure will be Walnut St.\, starting from Gleason Ave.\, to Central Ave.\, also Market St.\, from the Bridge to Central Ave.\, and the adjoining parking lot on the corner. \nVan Wert Freedom Cruise – The event is Saturday\, August 8\, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  The street closure will be S. Jefferson St.\, from Main St.\, to Central Ave. \nSeptember Events \nVan Wert Freedom Cruise – The event is Saturday\, September 12\, 2026 beginning at 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  The street closure will be S. Jefferson St.\, from Main St.\, to Central Ave. \nHistoric Main Street – The Harvest Moon Festival event is Saturday\, September 26\, 2026 beginning at 4:00 to 11:00 p.m.  The street closure will be Main St.\, from 101 E. Main St.\, to 301 E. Main St.\, East and West Court St.\, also 200 E. Main St.\, from S. Market St.\, to E. Crawford St.\, including the parking lot and 113 N. DESCRIPTION:Council President Thad Eikenbary moved that City Council schedule a public hearing on the Petition for Conditional Zoning filed with the City of Van Wert requesting that certain property be zoned I-2 General Industrial District upon annexation into the City of Van Wert\, Ohio.  The public hearing shall be held on May 4\, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.\, at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center\, 10700 St. Rt. 118\, Van Wert\, Ohio 45891. \nThe property that is the subject of the petition is generally described as land located immediately east of U.S. Route 127\, south and east of U.S. Route 224\, west of Mendon Road\, and north of\nU.S. Highway 30\, and further identified as Van Wert County Auditor parcel numbers: \n● 17-034718.0000\n● 33-047500.0000\n● 12-034459.0000\n● 17-034718.0100 \nCouncil further directs the Clerk of Council to: \n1. Publish legal notice of the public hearing as required by law beginning April 1\, 2026\,\nand\n2. Mail notice of the public hearing by regular U.S. Mail and certified U.S. Mail to adjacent\nproperty owners on April 1\, 2026. \nThe notice shall state that the Petition for Conditional Zoning\, all related materials\, and the report and recommendation of the City Planning Commission will be available for public inspection at the office of the Clerk of Council prior to the hearing.
