Two of Van Wert's finest return home in a reunion concert that could bring surprises of all kind? "Sonny Boy" Terry Jerome, noted as Houston's most famous Blues Harp player brings his band and joins forces with one of Nashville's finest Jazz and Country instrumentalist over the last 40 years - Mel Deal. Because of his versatility, he has played at The Grand Old Opry, Hee Haw, Nashville Now, The Porter Wagoner Show and has performed with many country music stars. He has performed with some of the top symphony orchestras throughout the south and is a regular with the Nashville Symphony and the General Jackson showboat. Both these great musicians are bringing some of their finest musician friends from Houston and Nashville to provide an exciting musical reunion jam in Fountain Park.
You will get a kick out of this show which recreates the sights and sounds of the 60's featuring reproductions of some of the most memorable songs from the "Hippie Generation". You will experience the British Invasion, Psychedelic and all things Groovey as you hear music from the Byrds, Beatles, Hollies, Rolling Stones, Turtles, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Doors, Monkeys and much, much more. Back by popular demand "the new queen of bluegrass" according to the Wall Street Journal, Rhonda Vincent returns to Van Wert. In 2008, Rhonda had nearly the entire park up on stage with her singing favorite hymns in typical Bluegrass style as only Rhonda Vincent can do. She touched the hearts and souls of thousands of fans in Van Wert and is looking forward to coming back to Fountain Park to share some of that great foot-stompin, hand clapping Bluegrass with everyone. Look for the famous Martha White bus in Van Wert....you'll know Martha and Rage have returned.
